Climbed out

Today when Mike-e went to go get Logan up, he was surprised when Logan greeted him at the door. Apparently Logan had climbed out of his crib. We have no idea how he did it but maybe it's his way of telling us he's ready for his new toddler bed. Mike-e is going to try him in his toddler bed tomorrow for his nap. We'll see how that goes and if he actually sleeps.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Yesterday we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and fed the giraffes. Logan was pretty cranky for whatever reason but he really liked the giraffes. He would fed a giraffe a cracker and then laugh. Some of the giraffes are crazy with their tongues so he would throw the cracker at them. He didn't want the tongue to touch him. He got upset when we left the giraffe and I think he would have been content to fed them all day long. The zoo is really nice and has a lot of nice enclosures for the animals. We walked around trying to keep Logan happy. When we got to the Orangutan enclosure we let him out and he could walk around. There wasn't very many people around and we were able to see the baby Orangutan who was so adorable and very little. At one point a little girl came in and Logan started following her around and copying her. He really wanted to play. She seemed a little weirded out. Afterwords we got some lunch and went home. It was a really nice day and nice break from the hectic schedule we've had going on right now.

Halloween Party

This year for Halloween Logan was a monkey. He was so cute and kept his hat on the entire time. This is amazing since he hates wearing hats. We went to the church Halloween party and had a great time. Everyone liked Logan's costume. After dinner they had games. There was a bowling game and Logan kept wanting to pick up the balls. He got upset when we took him away since the other kids couldn't play with him there. We tried doing the fishing pole game but he was still upset. We ended up walking around in the halls while Logan chased a ball we had for him. Once the games were done, he got to go trick or treating at all the classrooms. He did a very good job telling everyone thank you. His favorite candy is M&M's and he was very excited to receive several little bags. I really like how he was able to go trick or treating in a safe environment inside. I hope they do it this way again.

Long time

I know it's been a long time since I posted in this blog. Life has just been very busy the last 4 months. Logan is getting so big. He is walking so well and loves to climb on everything. He also loves to gives hugs and kisses which we love as well. He is now old enough to go to the nursery at church. He's done well two out of the four Sundays he's gone. The other two he cried a lot and we had to get him. He is so small compared to the other children. It's cute to watch him. We've been introducing him to the concept of potty training. We hope it will help when he actually starts potty training.

Logan loves the water

We went to Chatfield reservoir on Saturday and Logan crawled right into the water. I kept trying to get him to crawl out because the water was cold but he just loved it. We let him play for a little while and then made him get out. He was not happy. He is so adventurous and is always trying new things. We had a lot of fun walking around Chatfield and watching Logan play in the sand and the water.

1st road trip

This last weekend Logan went on his first road trip. My dad, Logan and I went to Salt Lake for my great aunt's funeral. This was Logan's longest time in a car, 9 hours each way. He did really good and only got cranky a couple of times. Of course he watched a lot of Elmo's World. I think my dad was going stir crazy from listening to Elmo's voice. Logan did well at my aunt's house and slept through the night both nights. He also got to meet his second cousin who is about the same age as him. They kindof played together. It was good to see all of the family and spend some time playing games and socializing.

Logan first official hair cut

I gave Logan a haircut today. It's really hard to cut his hair when he wants to move so much. Mike-e helped so I could get around Logan's ears. I think he looks cute and now his hair is not in his eyes.

1 year

It's hard to believe one year ago Logan was born. I'm amazed every day by how much he is changing. I look at him sleeping wondering what is in his future. He is such a good kid and I love that he is mine. Today for his birthday we went to Olive Garden for lunch. He tried a lemon for the first time ever and loved it. Loved it so much he screamed bloody murder when we took the peal away. He also got to try spaghetti and he couldn't get enough. Apparently he just likes new things. He has been sick this week so he was still clingy today. It nice when he's clingy when you don't have anything to do but since we had to clean the house it was a little frustrating. I took the day off from work to be with him. I wish I could take all the days off but Mike-e is a great stay at home dad so our arrangement works. Logan is now talking all the time and loves to sing. He isn't walking yet but stands a lot and jumps at you. He loves Elmo's world and for his birthday I'm making him an Elmo cake. Logan is the best and I'm very blessed to have him in my life.

Sign Language

Logan is now learning sign language. We've been working on some simple signs that will help him communicate with us. We've been using the signs for: play, more, mom, dad, bed, water, food, yes and no. Today Logan started doing the sign for "more" back. It's really cool and encourages us to keep up with the signs.

On another note he is also getting really good at giving "kisses". They are usually slobbery but I love them.

11 Months

Logan is 11 months old tomorrow. It's amazing how fast time goes by. I thought I'd write a couple of things that he does right now that I love. 1. Gets so excited when I come home from work. He crawls over to me as fast as he can. 2. He smiles when I tell him that I love him before he goes to sleep. 3. Gives me baby hugs and kisses. 4. Says "mama." 5. Laughs when I play "peek-a-boo" with him. He is a really good baby and I'm lucky to have him in my life.

Teeth

Logan is starting to get teeth. A couple of days ago I noticed a hole in Logan's bottom gums. The next day you could start to see the teeth and then on Friday if you put your finger in his mouth you could feel them. He wasn't really cranky at all until Friday night when we put him down for bed. It seems that his teeth only bother him when he's tired, which since he's not sleeping very well is almost all the time. Hopefully his teeth will come completely in soon and he'll be better. Right now he always wants to be held which is hard when he still wants to move a lot. Since I'm still breastfeeding Logan the idea of teeth is scary. A lot of my friends stopped breastfeeding right after the teeth came in because of all the biting. So far Logan has only bit me once and it wasn't that bad so hopefully it won't be horrible once they come completely in. I'm shooting to continue to feed Logan until he's a year and since that's only 2 months away I know I can do it.
