March of Babies

On Saturday my sister and I went downtown to participate in the March for babies.  It's a 6 mile walk around downtown.  Even though it was really cold we had a good time.  It was really nice spending some alone time with my sister where we could talk about everything.  I'm happy she is home from Australia and we are able to get together.   We are going to start going swimming together and work out together.  We are about at the same fitness level so it works out perfectly.

Good Husband... Great Dad

I've always said that Mike-e was a really good husband.  He takes really good care of me and is my best friend but having Logan has allowed me to see what a great dad he is.  He is always asking if I need help with Logan and loves to spend as much time as possible with him.  Right now they are sleeping together and it's so cute.  While trying to figure out what arrangement we were going to go with once I go back to work, Mike-e told me just how much he loves being a dad.  With tears in his eyes he told me it was the best thing in the world and he just hated going back to work himself because he didn't want to miss anything.  Neither one of us want Logan to go to daycare and be placed in a room where he has to fight for attention with 4 or 5 other babies.  Mike-e said he wished he could just stay home and be with Logan and it was too bad we couldn't afford that.  Plus he said he would feel bad that I was going to work while he got to stay home.  Well I thought about it and crunched the numbers and realized that we could afford to have Mike-e stay home.  I know with Mike-e staying home and focusing on school that not only will Mike-e grow but that Logan could not be in better hands.  I love to watch the two of them together.  Mike-e will put on the Beetles and sing to Logan or put on Beethoven and just watch him sleep.  They have a special bond that I look forward to watching grow.  I'm so happy to be married to someone so amazing.

Smiling baby

My new favorite thing in the whole world is to watch Logan smile. After
he eats when he is in a semi-sleep stage he'll just sit there and
smile. It's so cute and makes me smile. I can't wait until he starts to
laugh. Here are some pictures that Mike-e took that while these are
only little smiles it's the best we've been able to catch on
camera.
His bigs ones he seems to only give us when he knows we do not
have a
camera.

Great Weekend

This last weekend was a lot of fun. Mike-e's grandparents from California came out to visit us and Logan. They are really good people and it was wonderful to see them. Mike-e's parents and sisters came down from Westminster and we all went out to dinner at John Holly's. The food was really good even though the service was a little slow. Logan handled all the noise of the restaurant and only woke up when it was time for him to eat. We've been doing a new technique with the breastfeeding where I pump every other feeding and Mike-e feeds him with a bottle which made feeding him at dinner easy. After dinner we all came back to our house so we could take a four generation picture. Everyone took a ton of pictures. On Sunday we went to the hotel where his grandparents were staying and visited with them for a couple of hours. It is really nice that Mike-e has them because they are both very smart and know a lot about computers. Mike-e got to talk about all the technical stuff that I don't know anything about. I got to talk to his grandma about life and Logan. She is easy to talk to and we had a great conversation. They gave us an amazing computer which will make it easier to keep in contact with the because you can do video conferences. We are also looking forward to when they come back out or when we can go out to visit them. The picture above is of his grandparents at the hotel with Logan. Afterwards we drove up north for his other grandma's birthday barbeque. Logan got to meet more family that had yet to see him and get his picture taken a whole bunch more. The food was good and we enjoyed seeing everyone.

Boy oh boy!

So over the past couple of weeks we've discovered the beauty of having a boy.
The other day I'm changing Logan and I take off his diaper and I'm putting on a new one and he starts to pee. I quickly covered him with the new diaper and was impressed I was able to act so quickly. I waited until he was done peeing and then threw that diaper in the diaper champ with the first one. As I'm getting the 3rd diaper he starts to pee again. I didn't think about him being able to pee again right away so I was totally unprepared. I think he just really wanted to wear a different outfit.
Then about a week ago we were giving Logan a bath because he had an accident and he is laying there screaming when he suddenly gets really calm and starts peeing again. It was really funny and we, being first time parents, of course have it on video. I've attached a picture of him in the tub.
